Oh, forgot to answer about the White Mistflower. Yes, it WAS late! During the Monarch peak migration, just one of mine was starting to bloom a little bit. Normally they probably would've been in full bloom then. What few Monarchs I saw nectaring were mostly on Frostweed. Out in the wild, no white mistflower were blooming until that migration peak was completely over.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White
