This gal, Monica Maeckle, has a ranch in Llano, TX, near our lake place. I stumbled across her blog a couple of years ago. Thought I'd try to contact her this year to see if she had the Monarchs stopping at her ranch last month. I checked her blog and she had written there were not many Monarchs this year. (I would have asked/begged to go see the Monarchs at the ranch). She's on the fly way for their migration and some of the older photos were awesome.

She was part of a Monarch symposium in San Antonio Nov. 7 thru 10. Apparently, this was the worse year for the Monarchs. Sounded pretty grim.
