I had been good staying away from the LA. The key word is HAD. David and I both took a few looks recently and, of course, we both had to place some bids. We had won one a week ago and then 6 more yesterday. (Six wins at a time can get us in real trouble with planting space.) One of the 6 will go toward the Region 5 Spring Meeting Auction in June and another is an additional fan of one we really like. So, that is only 4 more planting spots needed. My rule now is that we cannot buy anything new unless we have a place to plant them. I made a list of daylilies in one area that we can move out, probably to church because they have biblical names. I have been wanting to do this at church. The one that I am most excited about that we won yesterday is Rainbow Maker. Been wanting this one.

I have found that fall and early winter (now) is a good time to bid. Bidding seems to be in a lull at this time of the year. Bidding will pick up after the first of the year and the closer we get to spring. You just have to keep an eye on bidding. As Tink said, you really can never tell. It just depends on who is bidding and how high the bidders are willing to go. Bidding prices are lower now than a few years ago. People do not have the money to spend that they once had. That is evident in all aspects of our economy.
