Keep in mind that most plants are toxic to some degree, so if you are worried about what you can have inside, you might consider doing your research first and then go out to try to locate plants you feel would be safe in your home. Did you know that tomato plants are highly poisonous? The tomatoes are sure yummy, tho!

As for those two you just purchased, as tropicals, they do prefer higher humidity and higher/brighter light. The dieffenbachia is better suited as a houseplant and will better handle drier indoor air, but the anthurium should do ok. Both will appreciated daily spritzing with water from a spray bottle.

In your zone, tho, both should have no problems living outdoors year round.
