Sprouting broccoli should be a good winter crop particularly in coastal areas. It forms multiple sideshoots not much in the way of a central head. Sprouting broccoli varies include Purple Sprouting, Green Sprouting and white sprouting. Popular in England for over wintering. Only one I have grown is Purple Sprouting, Big plant loaded with florets.
