Thank you! Some of my best crops were some of my first crops in that bed. I wonder if I've been accumulating disease microbes that don't show up as damaged leaves. just low emergence or slow growth.
Bok Choy did surprisingly well when the soil was shallow, rocky and low in compost! Every source says they like fertile, moist, well-drained soil. When I knew the soil was awful, I carefully fertilized lightly but every few weeks.
Or, The Knockout Rose That Devoured Seattle has spread its roots even wider than it's branches, and nothing can compete with it. I plan to dig that rose up and give it away so I can have my only big bed back for veggies!
