The old ditchlily is the only daylily that I have any experience with eating and in looking around at other sources most seem to waver about the edibility of the newer varieties. I really don't know what the difference would be or how hybridizing could have affected its edibility in a negative way, but even so, most still won't commit to an answer one way or the other. Including me. I nibble my daylilies, but I usually stay with the old reliable wild ones, the ditchlilies.
If I find a definite answer one way or the other, I'll for sure let you know.
