I have quite a bit of brick walkways and patios. But up here in Pa. I have the freeze and thaw that you don't have in Fl. but you may need to put down some type of crushed stone to use as a base with the sandy soil you have. Brick will collect and hold the heat, especially the darker colors, that may be an issue for you in Fl. Up here that is a plus.
