I volunteer at the local botanical gardens, in the nursery. I have noticed that plants grow like mad in the gravel, as in driveway gravel, that's about an inch deep, on top of either black plastic, or weed barrier stuff. Who needs rich soil? A little compost, but mostly gravel. I water the caudices, caudexes just as much as the soil.

I am gradually getting away from pots for Adeniums, and using pot saucers, with holes in the bottom, for them with caudices that I am happy with. One nurseryman had what he called 'squat pots', that were far wider than deep, but I haven't been able to find them via google, boooooo.

JT, I LOVE those tiny blossoms! They make the plant look like it's twinkling! And it's a rare day that there aren't any blooms open.

That snow picture is so awful! Ooo, how I hate snow and cccold! I won't go for a swim because the sea is too cold at 75 degrees! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
.
This guy is one that Wilfred sent me when I sent him a little money for some seedlings. Might be happier in a bigger pot... I sure miss Wilfred.
