Jolinda...it's my practice to NEVER remove anything from a peduncle at anytime...the plant knows what it can do and what it can't do and it may take time, it may abort, it may bloom... There is an exception to my rule...and that is if I am rooting a cutting that has a bloom forming/formed, I cut off the pedicels but NEVER the peduncle...
