Zone 8b, Jacksonville, Texas. I Moved the hugelkultur in the southwest
corner of our property outward to take advantage of water runoff. Luckily, I hadn't
covered them yet. When I moved the first 3 or 4 meters of wood, I found the ground
under it (formerly hardpacked sand) to be very dark and rich -- and it smelled great!
I'm pretty sure I just found this year's onion bed...
