Compared to redwood trees, "a big tree" in this area of the world has a much smaller meaning. That said, this live oak tree is in a park in Geneva, AL - a small town probably most notable for its' high number of really big, old trees. This one has a plaque that says it is known to have been alive since at least 1776, though I'm sure many other trees around town are just as old. Its' limbs touch the ground in many places, and each is bigger than most trees.

I love a really big tree, and can get dizzy just trying to wrap my mind around how long it might have been right there, seeing all.

What big tree do you live near, or have seen?

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now. (-Unknown)
