I don't think you can bury tree peonies too deep if they're grafted. Too shallow a d the herbaceous root will take over. Maybe yours just needed a couple of years for the tree root to develop enough to support the blooms. Here's hoping this will be the year! On my way home from a long weekend in FL, supposed to be heading in to freezing rain. No peonies for me for quite a while. Thanks to you all in warmer climes for the early glimpse into spring!
