Tim - have you ever heard of "Aunt Molly's" ground cherry tomato??
A friend of mine from Michigan sent me a box that he grew and they are very unusual in that they actually have a husk on them that covers the top of the tomato. Another unusual thing about them is that you don't have to pick them off the3 vine. When they ae rip they simply fall off the plant.

My friend tells me they are hard to germinate. I started four seeds and so far two have germinated.
The package itself say they are slow germinators and it bears until heavy frost. They will stay on the counter for weeks after you bring them inside.
