Coral Splendor is just beautiful. Lovey dubby

Just wanted to comment -- Seattle Sunset is actually a NOID that was named by a fellow who was gifted that Iris by a friend. That fellow (the giftee) did not understand the requirements involved in naming an Iris -- so he named the Iris, gave rhizomes to others (with that name), and tried to enter it into the ATP database under that name. He now understands *the rules* -- but recipients of his gift rhizomes may not know the history.

Despite that, it's a beautiful Iris -- and I happen to be one of the recipients of his generous sharing. It's my own opinion that this Iris is actually Safari Sunset. Since I grow them both, I was able to compare them almost side-by-side last spring and they are virtually identical.

Here is a photo of my Safari Sunset -- what do you think?

I didn't take a picture of my Seattle Sunset last spring -- dang.

Anyway -- just wanted to clarify the issues surrounding Seattle Sunset. I have an Iris that I named years and years ago based on its color -- Apricot Buff. I make sure, when sharing rhizomes, that people know that it's a *no ID* Iris that I have named. FWIW.
Thoughts become things -- choose the good ones. (www.tut.com)
