Well good, because I'm trying to teach here! Apparently, it's working. I guess I've been doing this for about seven or eight years now and volunteering at the museum for a total of about five years (with a break in between when I was really sick). Still tons to learn but I love sharing the knowledge. And when I get kids at the museum that are totally excited about caterpillars and butterflies that just rocks my world! Heck, I like excited adults, too! Plus, it usually gives me an avenue to talk about native plants and how we can all help the environment, etc. I try not to be preachy about it, just factual. And of course, Florida is a big tourist hot spot so we get people from all over the country (and other countries!) so it's fun to show them something they'll never see where they're from.
