@ShadyGreenThumb, I wasn't so much offended as confused. I rarely feed my lawn, never poison it, but I do mow it regularly. It's just pasture grass, nothing fancy, and has a heavy amount of dandelions and clover in it. I've never noticed a huge population of grubs when digging up sod for new beds, mainly worms and ground beetles. I always wonder why the moles focus on the lawn rather than our surrounding fields, although they are perhaps less noticeable out there as we only mow the fields once or twice per year. As Claudia noted, some years are worse than others for moles. I've thrown in the towel on that battle and plan to simply co-exist with the critters.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
