Calin, your peat sounds like the same stuff we have. Once sifted, I avoid using the long shreds, but I don't sift mine too fine. I like some small pieces left in my mix (but not too many). They eventually rot or wear away from the surface leaving an interesting texture in the hypertufa. About half way down this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S... is a picture of some that has the size/texture I like to use.
