The container I have this plant in is only 3 inches deep, but wider, and other roots are helping themselves in the moisture therein. I try no to plant my succulents too deep, they have such shallow root systems, and I need the root zone to drain faster. Too deep makes it longer to dry out and you might end up with rotten roots.
Maybe try to keep it dry for about a week, and see if the leaves go back to having crinkly edges. Right now it looks like the leaves of your plant is too water bloated or consider amending your soil with more pumice or perlite, to keep it airy and open and water drains faster.
Similar thing happened to my Echeveria Paul Bunyan..grown way too shady and got a lot more water than it should, so it grew leggy and lost its rough edges:
So have reduced the watering, and gave it more light..so it regained its usual carunculated leaf form. Though this particular succulent can really take direct sunlight.
But for the Adromischus cristatus, just more bright light, not too much direct sun.
