As far as how long till bloom time, it all depends on how much sun we have. Today is the first day in I don't know when, that it has been sunny and warm. We have been having torrential rains, or cloudy misty days, or just cloudy cool days, and even when the sun came out it stayed cool. But after a beautiful, sunny, warm day today, tomorrow's forecast is more rain.
There are four scapes fused together, with all the buds up top, they are now starting to branch out. The buds on the outer two scapes are turning outward away from the center. I'll take more photos toward the end of the week.
Ahhh, the Deer and the Armadillo! Now there is something to consider, if all the rain doesn't drown the plant the animals may dig it up or eat it. It is so wet down there I slide down to the garden instead of walk, then I can't stand long in one place or I start sinking. The water is up on the surface level now, much more rain and it will be flowing water (even after the rain is gone).
I did have to replant a daylily today in that bed the Armadillo dug up last night. I replanted melons, cucumbers, squash, etc. today because the Armadillo destroyed them all. I will let them sprout and get a little size on them before I plant them out in the bed then try and fence that bed off a little better, if I don't catch him in my trap soon. That danged Armadillo tried to dig up all my tomatoes but the cages saved them, even though he did managed to loosen up a few. I guess I could just put a cage over the daylily, I'll do that tomorrow. Humm... any variety of climbing daylilies?
