Michelle - Oh how horrible! I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your daylily stock.
Unfortunately, many growers have had years like that, so it happens when you are in the plant business. Food crops are the same way. You just never know what will happen with the weather (as well as other curve balls from Mother Nature) from year to year. This past Winter was really cold for most everyone except those of us in the deep south. Northern Florida got hit quite hard this Winter, but you would never know it in central Florida as our Winter was very mild. On the other hand, this could be the year for the deep south to get hit by a hurricane again. THAT is always in the back of my mind. 2004 Hurricane Season about did me in with the damage to my home, yard, and community/county. Personally, I'd rather recover from a bad Winter than a bad Hurricane season. But both can be costly and challenging!
Michele - I hope you are able to recover from the loss faster than you are anticipating. I can't even imagine!
