I'm certainly in agreement with "Spider Man", only the hottest, brightest days put it to the test. I've got one similar to Mary's Gold that barks from across the yard called "Golden Candles". I like 'em all but good bud count and strong color is what makes a favorite for me. Of what I grow those two put on a great show even when neglected (which, by the way, has been circumstantial , not intentional).

Reds though, in general, have been a consistent disappointment when purchased by nursery tag pictures alone more so than other colors IMHO. Definitely helps to either see them in person or repeatedly on the web to have a better idea of what they'll actually look like.

Certainly a let down when that "fire engine red" on the tag is more realistically burgundy. Sad
