I'm sure your wife was happy to see her brother & it sounds as if you have a great relationship with him as well. There's nothing like liking your in-laws.

The more I see of Texas, in pictures & reading, the more it seems like they are very cognizant of "the wild things" & keeping wild areas. I'm sure Ladybird Johnson had much to do with that.
