For hanging containers, it's not always necessary that they have blooms and they can also have very low water requirements. I've never posted a photo, but if this works, here is a sempervivum in a shallow 12" clay container hanging and another semp hanging in a 10" enameled tin bowl that belonged to my grandmother. I'm in hot central west Texas and these go for weeks without being watered.
