Since I now have elebendy gazillion Caladiums thanks to Bill, I've been cutting off flowers and examining them in detail trying to figure out where the heck is the pollen! After about the 3rd one I got on computer and started doing pretty much fruitless searches for a picture of Caladium pollen. The ONLY one I could find was a rather dark out of focus picture that wasn't all that great. I did find out however, a lot of info on how to pollinate Caladiums and a description of the pollen that said, "looks like a fungus". This morning whilst contemplating life, the universe and everything, I happened to glance over at a flower and BAM I had one full of pollen.

Now all I have to do is figure out when the female part of the flower is receptive.

I will be most happy to stick these pictures in the database if I can find the generic Caladium entry.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
