Thank you for doing a podcast on orchards! I am very interested in this topic. And yes, please do the podcast on small-space, city-dweller orchards sometime. That is also part of my dilemma. Although we live somewhat rurally on 28 acres, it is mostly a forested large hill with just a couple of acres cleared at the top for the house and barn. Furthermore, the preexisting and extensive landscaping is decidedly formal. So I am left with only a tiny area in which I think I might be able to fit a few fruit trees and it is on the front side of the house and therefore needs to coordinate with the current landscaping. That said, I learned a great deal from this podcast and my mind was constantly turning envisioning how I could incorporate some of these ideas into that space I have in mind for an orchard.
