Personally, here in central Florida, I think near-continuous rebloom is more important than bud count. I mean, who cares if there are 30 or even 20 buds, when there'll be another scape coming--often before the old scape stops blooming.



It often freezes here before those rebloom scapes get to bloom, or the mornings are getting cool and the blooms don't open well. I've seen some that seem like they have tons of buds that open all at once, seems like even though they bloom in quantity, it may be one big explosion lol and then over. Nice to have them bloom a few at a time over a longer period. New scapes are nice to see if it is still early in the season, but not the fall rebloom particularly. Same is true of rebloom iris for me, they just usually get froze.
