Yes, I guess it's a good thing these can be pretty tough plants. Good save!
If you look at the caudex of the variegated seedling above, you can see a couple scars where it had been nipped by something (I suspect fledgling birds taste-testing everything). I'm surprised it was able to heal, though I guess I shouldn't be surprised any more!
