I've found that the longer a plant remains in a good location and isn't disturbed, the less flopping it will do as it gets older. They seem to get stronger with each new season. A lot of it also depends on the water content of the bloom stalk. Consistent and timely watering helps, even here in the flatlands where the winds can be ferocious.

Teresa, this beauty that came from you tended to flop last year, during its first bloom time here, but this year it is so much stronger and Wow the blooms on it! No flopping at all. I love it.
