In 1982, I had to be hospitalized. My roommates and friends from college sent me a plant arrangement that included snake plants. I brought one of those plants with me when I moved to CA and I still have it, or rather, its descendants. It sits year 'round in a pot in a shady part of the back porch. I left one snake plant back in PA in my sister's and my bedroom. For whatever reason, my sister hated it but she couldn't figure out how to kill it. For all I know, it might still be there. My dad would have taken care of it after my sister moved out.
