First branch with blooms has finished...and the other branches now picking up the blooming phase. This year is truly wonderful!

Since I have stepped up watering, I am also trying to see how the caudex feels to the touch..and it is really rock hard! I always watch one of the "arms' of this caudex, when it starts to show some shrinkage, it is telling me it wants more water. It certainly likes drinking a lot, and that direct full sun. Normally it would not be good for this plant to be watered daily like what I do..but I can get away with it since our area is really very dry, daytime temps at the mid 80's to upper 90's ++, very low humidity and my container is shallow and well draining. Anyways, it is still summer, so giving this plant all the water it can drink! Big Grin

I am learning a lot from this plant, watching for the cues..what it needs..somehow seeing similar traits in some of my other actively growing drought tolerant plants during summer.
