I rather doubt folks are seeing it reseed like crazy; they're probably just seeing how well it spreads by runners/rootlets. Just a guess here, but I'd side with the folks who think JC is sterile, or nearly so.

I've tried to find seeds on the native monardas, but I'm either not very adept with the timing, or I don't know what exactly to look for.
