Barbara, Thanks for the in-depth description on scape. Maybe today's development can id my peacock's new grow more clearly (see the pic below).

Growing Amaryllis bulb is so wonderful! Another day, another surprise: another new grow!

The 1st pic was taken more from side angle and the 2nd more from front. See the 2nd new tip appear above the 1st, now much longer one. From front view (2nd pic), both all look flat, thin and smooth. From side view (1st pic), the long one looks a little fat with many wrinkled lines and the short tip, though looks thin, yet barely reveals a bulged strip at center which seems to be the underneath bud tip. I do hope these two are to be all scapes.

As for my samba, the big guy, no luck at all -- still sleeping.
If a plant looks good, smells good, don't eat it, grow it!
