Thanks, Sheila! I love shooting daylilies on an overcast day. That seems to be the time to get pictures that don't look washed out.

I absolutely hate taking family pictures in the sun. We recently got the family together under the old mulberry tree and they turned out great. But as you said, years ago we were told that the sun had to be at the photographer's back. Not very complimentary to those in the picture Smiling

I definitely need the tripod more often because of the longer shutter speed needed sometimes due to the lack of lighting.
