The heuchera at my place are in morning sun but shade the rest of the day and do great. When I had them in sun they burned up. Kabby, since you are zone 8, your plants may need more sun than the same plant would need in cooler zones. You could probably grow the glads without lifting them in the winter. If our winters here are not too bad the glads return the next year. But once in a while we get a winter colder than normal and the glads would die.
