This most gracious lady, and a Plumerian par excellence passed away yesterday in Houston. She had been battling cancer for several years but the smile never left her face. To know her was to love her.
I have no idea how old she was but she was forever 21 in spirit, even though she never tired of proclaiming in a gathering that 'she was the oldest person there'.
Lake was married for many years to Eulas Stafford and together they traveled to many places, both to see plumerias growing and just to see the world.
'Lake's Passion' is an aptly named plumeria dedicated to her by her husband Eulas. Picture courtesy of Florida Colors Nursery.

May she rest in peace.
