Tell you what... I'll scope out Garlands a few days before and see if it is worth visiting. April is still early in the season. Late May when we usually do clinic weekend Garlands would be in full swing.

Garlands is a big nursery with several "specialty" greenhouses (one for tropicals, one for azaleas, etc). They have a decently large shade plant area; perennials are alphabetically arranged. Inside there is a separate bonsai nursery. Then another couple of greenhouses for annuals. Lots of shrubs and trees out back. They have a couple of tables of semps and sedums that are available from local (Oregon) growers. Just to give you all an idea.

On the other hand, Dancing Oaks is what I would call an "eclectic" nursery. Lots of the unusual flora. If you all decide to just do one, I would recommend this one.
