Hi Donna -- I'm not Joyfulirisus, and I'm not an expert, but those little holes on the underside of a rhizome are where the old roots used to be. All rhizomes have them. And when replanted, the rhizome usually grows new roots and so you never see those little holes. It's not a disease, or anything that you need to worry about -- except for the fact that your rhizomes didn't grow new roots. If they're still firm, then they're still viable. Replant them in a different spot and see what they do!! Good luck!!
Thoughts become things -- choose the good ones. (www.tut.com)
