I think the pattern has been called several things - sanded, speckled and peppered come to mind. Now I think sanded might be used to refer to a pattern that is more evenly distributed across the falls like TANZANIAN TANGERINE or Tasco's SPLASHACATA. Not sure though. I think when Gibson produced his they simply called them 'fancy plicatas'. Of the ones I grew, I think I liked AUTUMN ECHO the best. LADY FIRE was a nice bloom, but stayed too short and KILT LILT was just too hard to keep alive.
