In the past, the flowers have usually not kept showing up after putting plants outside for summer. But for some reason, these trees have been making flowers constantly for the last 15-18 months, so they did have access to nature/critters while continuing to bloom this past summer outside. And it was the first time that I've seen the 'balls' not fall off, staying on and turning black.
