I too love all the hollies and viburnums that provide wonderful color in winter as well as food for birds. My yard is planted with fruiting plants that are beautiful all year long. We here in Texas also have flowering quince and winter honeysuckle that bloom from Christmas through March giving us beautiful red flowers and we planted the winter honeysuckle for the bees, but we enjoy the heavenly aroma on warm winter days. We are blessed with early narcissus in Jan. followed by jonquils and daffodils from late Jan. through the first of April. When planning my landscape I included plants that provide bloom at all times of the year, and I am reaping the rewards now. There isn't a day that I don't have something blooming in my gardens.
