I just finished cleaning up bed number 3, 8 more to go. I found a few with the above type of problem to the mother rhizome, and 1 that looks like it's toast. Sad Strawberry Shake, It's my second try at that one. The rhizome is firm yet, but no increases at all, and the fan looks rotted. I'm hoping it might just send one out yet this spring. The one I planted the year before had like 5 or 6 increases going into winter. Then it got rot and every one of the babies died too. Last summer this one just kind of sat there, not doing much, no increases at all. It felt good to be in the garden though! It's just under 60 today, partly cloudy and kind of windy.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
