It could be the Florida Elm (Ulmus americana var. floridana) http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/st650 which does not have a tendency to be invasive or the American Elm (Ulmus americana) which is also found in the northern part of the state: http://www.na.fs.fed.us/pubs/s... and has little invasive tendencies.
