Was the old search engine giving the third echinacea result (the Berkheya species) pride of place because echinacea appears twice in the name? I can't think of any other logical reason. The entry hasn't been edited recently. In fact, it has never been edited.
I agree that you can launch the beta search right away. It seems to be a great improvement.
