I found great containers for re-potting my pond plants at the local dollar stores. They have plastic baskets and buckets with handles in dark colors (black, blue, brown, terra cotta). I've found them in the housewares and office supply areas, so be sure to look in all the aisles. The holes in some were a little big for my liking so I lined them with black landscape fabric. They are as sturdy as those from pond supply stores, so fingers crossed for at least a few years' use.
