While daylilies are by far my favorite flowers I'm definitely a fan of true lilies, Orientals and others. As mentioned, the heights, foliage, and scent are a great bonus in just about any landscape.

I've never actually planted in close proximity to daylilies in my garden but I find the taller varieties a great addition to "mature" landscapes that offer little space for new additions. It's the vertical thing. I find the foliage kinda boring until they're three stems or more but as always, it's worth the wait.

I'm fearful my favorite didn't make the winter? An Oriental called "Muscadet", it went 4' the first year and 5' after that (well beyond it's registered height) .Big stems, big leaves, blooms bigger than a pie plate. If she's gone, she will be replaced with 6 more!

There are flowers I never bother to replace after a winter kill / pot loss. Then again there are those that have some kind of "special"....

LOL, If I weren't so tired I'd shoot a selfie of myself sitting here with my long hair, worn to holes concert-gifted Iron Maiden shirt (thanks Goat, Thanks Nicko) and Lemmy (Motorhead) / Rob Zombie inspired facial hair...

I look a fairly well manicured mess, it pleases me to be the same old "me". The mirror doesn't lie, that gray didn't come free but I still see 25 year old me. A rebel of sorts, 'til it's over.

You would think "mugshot" more than ATP devotee, LOL. I can't play music (well), Plants though? My thumbs get greener every year. It helps to have good resources, this web forum is better than anything on my bookshelf. Almost 30 years in greenhouse/nursery & lawn/landscape work, the last 15 years of internet have helped me immensely on both personal and professional pursuits. This forum is the best I've ever found regarding any topic or interest. I don't FB, I don't Tweet. Business-wise it could be useful. Don't need it. I don't do web forums, I've made an exception here. Quality of folks and their contributions? It's priceless! Smiling

Awaiting July! Thumbs up
