Their stems may have been more hardened since they were up for longer than a day before the frosts hit. Just guessing here, but it seems plausible anyway. Mine were newly emerged, and I'd think still tender as the dickens; however, I just checked on it and it's trying to recover. Midway down the stem was where it was blackened and crunchy, but now it just looks scuffed a bit...and it's straightened back up. Yay! Hurray!
