Last summer I finally remembered in time to trim the silver mound...and it made all the difference. Looked good all season without that awful brown hole when it flops. This year the Amethyst in the Snow has done the same thing, but with its flowing habit, trimming it will lose the blossoms. I may try using something like the peony circles next year. It looked so pretty before it flopped!
