Well, I spoke too soon about not having any casualties this year, the floods here in Texas almost completely wiped out my mini semp collection!!!!! I was devestated but on a brighter note, I have a new shipment coming next week and I am so excited! I noticed that my dirt is STILL wet and this happened last Monday evening. I have a cactus mix, I mix it with a little perlite, and some sand but does anyone have any suggestions on what else I can use to improve the drainage? I assume that I would need a super fast draining type because I live in a hot and humid climate. Sometimes it rains a lot here in the summer. I saw something about chicken grit but I live on a 4th story apartment and don't really need 50 pounds of it. Is there anything else that would work that you don't have to buy in such bulk?
