My boxes going out has become an ongoing joke at our small local PO. Last year a new employee had spotted one of my boxes with holes in it and as it was about to be tossed into the truck she shouted 'don't throw it, it has something alive in it!'. They hit the button and shut down the whole building. They swarmed around the box and the new employee and began to fire questions at her like 'did you hear something, was it ticking, was it rattling or vibrating, etc.' when she told them 'no, but it has breathing holes in it'. They explained to her, and to everyone that was notified when they hit the red button, that this postal patron ships live plant material and the boxes always have holes. This spring when I took the first box in the girl that always takes care of my boxes could not disguise a smile and said in sotto voice 'it has breathing holes in it, is it alive?'. I'll bet the 'new' employee gets tired of hearing about the 'box'.
